both left a bad taste in the mouth how they left us, Owen running the contract down and Torres kissing the badge 4-5 months earlier saying how he wanted to stay and fight then jumped ship when he got the chance.

In short both as far as I am concerned are front bottoms!

4-5 months earlier he was told that the Chinese would buy us so it is understandable that he wanted to stay considering that. Didn't happen and he gave up after that. Got tired of all the broken promises.

and then didn't give Kenny and the new owners a chance to show what they'd do for us.

He's gone now anyway but you get the feeling LFC is a happier place without him sulking around the club

Torres was fantastic for us and in hindsight we are in a better position now than if we had stayed, so I bear him no animosity.

The Mancs loath him for obvious reasons and if he could scupper their dream of overtaking us for the first time in their history, I actually think that would be perfect. I cannot bear to read about Fergie and that bloody perch.

How sickening is Ferguson at his PC? ‘’Webb is without doubt the best referee in the league and we hope it’s our turn for a bit of luck.’’
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

If Torres gets a medal it would be a bit rich to call him a title winner imo.

He's only been there for half a season, and has contributed pretty much nothing.

I Doub't in years to come, when asked, that he'll be able to look back on 'that' title winning campaign of 2011 with much pride and any real feeling of self achievement.

Ferguson is almost as bad as Mourinho in trying to gain an unfair advantage by talking about referees. Truly shameful behaviour for a knight of the realm. He seems to conveniently forget about the CL QF and Evra's blatant foul (and red card) on Ramires in the last minute. As it was a European ref though i suppose he doesnt include that. How United can complain about refereeing decision is beyond me

I loved Dalgish's article last week criticisig Mourinho for trying to gain an unfair advantage by criticising referees (and by extension Ferguson as well as he does the same). Cheats the pair of them.

My worry, even if Chelsea beat United on Sunday, is that the scum are still favourites for the league due to their easier two remaining fixtures. If Chelsea manage to win both of theirs you could see United sticking six past Blackpool on the final day to win the league on goal difference

He's got a world cup medal and a euro medal for pretty much contributing hardly anything to it.

All up he looks to be receiving three pretty big chunks of medallion for a total of two goals. He's gonna go down as the player who has contributed the least amount of effort for the biggest returns.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

nothing apart from the goal that won the european trophy and the assist on the goal that won the world cup

And what did Villa do in that time? A bit more than Torres. Also it was a Fabregas assist, not Torres. Two tournaments, one goal (yes it was in the final).
For a striker that's pretty poor.

i'm not saying he was their best player, but he certainly contributed to the two most important goals in those tournaments.

tbf, if he scores the goals that bring chelsea the title, he'll have nearly been worth the money. doesn't look like happening, but it still could. in that case i reckon he'd be feeling just fine about the whole affair.
