He's broken several stories before anyone else. Has undoubted links to players and managers and yet people still won't have it that he might actually know what he's talking about. I don't really understand that attitude

He is probably the most respected Spanish football journalist out there. He gets a lot of exclusives with the best players because they respect him and know that he will do a good job.

Never understood the negative attitudes towards him either. If anything I respect him even more as he is clearly a red.

I don't doubt we have spoken to his agent, but we probably talk to hundreds of players agents but very few of them will lead anywhere...

Non Articles are usually regarded as snippets so take them as a pinch of salt. Balague is posting these in good faith as he knows that they will be well recieved by the majority of us so just lay off him as the more info we get, the more wiser we are to what's happening.
After all, he's only passing on what's he heard thru the grapevine so let's us appreciate another source of information instead of harassing his snippets!

The fact that we are debating the journalist in question without seriously even considering whether the player is a realistic target sums it up quite nicely.

I like him too.

His best season for Valencia in terms of productivity with 8 goals and 15 assists in all competitions but I do agree that a change of scenery would do him so much good. He's ready for a much better club.

Similar to Adam Johnson imo. Quick and skillful but tends to drift out of games on a regular basis.

Not convinced by Mata at all.
