Seen a few La Liga team of the year type things and Mata has featured in a few. I haven't seen a lot of him this season but thought he'd gone a bit stale. Shows what I know

He's my main (realistic) transfer hope for the summer.

He probably has gone stale and a new challenge like our could really kick his career on, like it did for Torres.

Mata carried Valencia this season in the same way Gerrard did for us a few years ago. He showed that he can handle pressure without any problem. Excellent leader on the pitch.

They sold Villa and Silva and put all their eggs in one basket, Mata. He delivered big time. Who would have believed that they would be a better team without Villa and Silva? Mata made the fans forget about them very quickly.

Don't really have a clue how they will be able to cope without him. He is their key player by some distance. That is also why it is so difficult to price him away from Valencia.

Soldado has stepped it up for Valencia as well.

Valencia is finished as a CL club if they sell Mata IMO. They could go from third to bottom half next season if they sell him.

They don't have the money to replace him.

I would offer them Suso on a two year loan as part of the deal.

There are very few players in the world for whom £20m would be considered a 'steal', and he isn't one of them. Good value, maybe, a steal, no.

                  We must sign him then

If rumours are true he is not our "marquee" target but I'd gladly take him and "other" guy

Mata if I have to choose.

If I don't have to choose I'd take both. Young (or Downing) could provide some nice support for Carroll.

Mind you not at 15m if that is his value with one year left on his contract.

What Arn meant is that Suarez wasn't cheap but now most would agree that price we paid for him was a bargain/steal.

Mata could turn out to be the same thing.

i think matas a decent player but i think silva is better. i dont think mata is a winger though. he looks like another typical continental attacking midfield player who likes to move all over the place.

his passing seems to be good and it looks like he has the vision to open up defences. it still doesnt address the issue of getting quality crosses into the box but you wouldnt say no.

Mata is better than Silva IMO. Quicker, stronger, more of a threat with the ball.

Different player, but as LFC need pace I'd take a risk on Mata over Silva, who has been a hit in the premiership.

well mata is pretty small and he looks lightweight, well but it's true that shouldn't be a problem.

He's not being bought by LFC to be a striker competing against the likes of Samba. Height isn't an issue for me.
