Yeah, I've not watched him play for Valencia all that often, but he's always in and around the Spain team, so I've seen him play at least a dozen times without really making an effort.

Mata carried Valencia this season in the same way Gerrard did for us a few years ago. He showed that he can handle pressure without any problem. Excellent leader on the pitch.

They sold Villa and Silva and put all their eggs in one basket, Mata. He delivered big time. Who would have believed that they would be a better team without Villa and Silva? Mata made the fans forget about them very quickly.

Don't really have a clue how they will be able to cope without him. He is their key player by some distance. That is also why it is so difficult to price him away from Valencia.

I really don't agree with this. Topal, Tino Costa and others here and there have been Valencia's main players. They have had enough options in attack to keep things fresh, especially after Jonas arrived. He failed to deliver on a number of occasions this and last season when they needed him to I fail to see how they are dependant completely on him. They have a very balanced squad and Mata alas an important player isn't a hinge on their ability to win games.

Soldado has stepped it up for Valencia as well.

In all honesty Soldado was pretty wank this season overall. Then he scored 12 goals or so in the last 8 games which have made his season look a lot better than it was with 18 league goals although he went through long scoring droughts.

Valencia is finished as a CL club if they sell Mata IMO. They could go from third to bottom half next season if they sell him.

They don't have the money to replace him.

I would offer them Suso on a two year loan as part of the deal.

Mata is better than Silva IMO. Quicker, stronger, more of a threat with the ball.

He's definitely a much better player than Silva and possibly can offer more substance but he doesn't have the same intelligence Silva has which is basically what makes Silva such a good player despite a number of limitations to his game.
