If I'm Mata and I have a choice between Arsenal and Liverpool, I can honestly and objectively say I'd pick Liverpool.

All of Arsenal's best players are currently unsettled, why would I go there now?

The only advantage is short term CL football (and who knows if they finish top 4 next season), and living in London. That's it.

Big advantages IMO, and Nasri & Cesc going with Mata and whoever else (with Cesc,Nasri funds) they get to replace them, for all we know could benefit Arsenal and also be a short term problem. If Arsenal go in for Mata, which by the sound sof it they are/will we will face stiff competition IMO.

That's two pretty big plus points though really. Given that many of the question marks against us are equally as big and we can't offer any European competition. If he comes to us it will be because of money IMO.

I mentioned this before but I think Fabregas' future could have a big say in this if it's a choice between us and Arsenal. Presumably he's mates with both Fabregas and Reina from international squads. If Fabregas is wanting out then there'll be no-one he knows well at Arsenal to help him settle.

Aside from that I too would pick us over Arsenal, but I guess it depends if Mata is looking at the long term or short term (Arsenal having CL football)

i really hope so Mos, Mata looks a class act would be a bonus to any club that signed him. We can only but wait and see and hope that another doesn't bite the dust.
