            Obviously no guarantees.

Torres & Sheva have nothing to do with this.

Point is that "too lightweight", "too small" platitude gets trotted out all the time (no offence wavydavy ) and it's rubbish IMO. If you're good enough it doesn't matter how little you are.

They said the same about Silva, Modric, Luis Garcia, Benayoun etc. The ones who don't succeed fail because they're not good enough. Also, although it's quicker over here, much of the defending in Spain, Argentina etc is brutal. The PL cheerleaders like to think it's only us who tackle hard, which is rubbish.

Yeah, imagine little Messi trying to get to grips with Stoke on a cold Wednesday night in November...

yes it does they were success at their previous clubs and ended up at little russia for big money and have been flops.....as you say Obviously no guarantees but already he's seems deemd to have been a success before even having signed ...let's not compare him to other midfielders as each player is different.

Modric stays at Spurs then I guess.
                  Oh I don't know.

So you compare him to strikers instead?

I'd be amazed if he didnt also end up at Chelsea.

put your glasses on and read it again..........two previous expensive signings who were successful at their previous clubs and have been flops for big money at chelsea

I'd rather have Hazard. Mata moves inside too much.

Everybody knows there have been big money flops but I'm not on about that - I'm specifically talking about small, "lightweight" footballers in the mould of Mata, Silva, Modric etc.

Yeah, and both of them were strikers - so you were comparing him to strikers, when saying we shouldnt compare him to other midfielders
