Bild says Magath is fining Wolfsburg players €500 each time they miscontrol the ball. He'd have a field day with the likes of Carlton Cole.
Ah, good old 'one-trick McGeady'. Looked every inch the 20m game-changer against the mighty Slovakia.
Looking forward to more of his "head-down, blind alley" moves later today.

Ferguson: "Sneijder isn't the ideal replacement for Scholes. He's a fantastic player but ...only Xavi and Iniesta are comparable to Scholes"
He can **** off - Xavi and Iniesta are miles better than Scholes ever was (although don't get me wrong he was a top, top player). And they can tackle too [insert cheeky scamp laugh here].

Absolutely.
Not even in his heyday could Scholes ever come close to Xavi and Iniesta.
I actually think it's a fair comparison. As much about style as level of ability. In recent times Sneijder has played almost as a forward at times - something you could never see Xavi, Iniesta or Scholes doing. His last season he was notably below his previous level but Scholes deserved a lot of praise he received before that.

Iniesta has often played as one of the front 3 for Barca (on the left) - and he could easily play the behind the striker role.
Whether Scholes was stylistically comparable to Xavi and Iniesta was not what I took issue with, it was the comparison in ability which Ferguson seems to make - which I don't think is near. Xavi and Iniesta are almost from a different planet as far as I'm concerned.

I think he was close in ability. I suspect that Xavi at least would agree.
Not convinced that Iniesta played like a forward in quite the same way Sneijder has/does. Interestingly I saw a piece recently that suggested that one of the roles Fabregas had been bought to do at Barca is bring that option to the squad using their last game (Villareal was it?) as an example.
