It was never damgerous though, it was cynical and petulant but was never going to injure anyone. He was sent off for it, a 1 or possibly 2 game ban is more than enough.

I don't think it was cynical - that makes it sound planned. He'd already been banned for one game in the qualifying competition. I'm a bit surprised it wasn't two but one was never enough.
I was quite impressed by how he reacted at the time. It's too little of course but he's clearly learned something which is worth remembering next time someone is accused of being too stupid to change or whatever. Now he needs to learn not to kick out petulantly like that in the first place..

If it stays as a 3 game ban I really don't think he should be part of the tournament & I'd say that if it was Gerrard banned for 3 games as well.Comment
