I think it's the overall notion that we 'played like Barca' that people have a problem with.

Indeed - the Valencia team played us off the park that day.Originally posted by Arn View Post
and it isn't a joke that his Valencia team played fantastic pass and move football. I still remember when they totally outplayed us playing that way.
He had the same problem back then. He didn't had the money to make the team even better. He had to sell to buy and he didn't decide who they signed.
I don't know why some people seems to think that Rafa isn't a pass and move type of manager. That is the way he want his team to play.
Give him the money and he would build the squad that way without any doubt at all.
He said himself that he wanted to build Inter that way. He wanted Inter to play high possession football.
I don't know why Rafa is painted out like a defensive type of manager. He made us the team that scored most goals in the Country. He made Inter play better attacking football. His Valencia team played excellent attacking football.
So, the evidence that Rafa isn't a pass and move high possession type of manager? I still wait on that.
Rafa want his team to dominate. That is the way he build his systems.
I do think Rafa was a cautious manager, who set up teams not to lose (unless we *had* to go out for the win). But equally, he was that confident in his pre-match preperations, he stubbornly thought it would 'come right in the end'. But when it clicked, it clicked well - hence the season were we scored a record amount of goals.
But this is more for a Rafa thread.
In terms of this chat, if Rafa had the wide players he desired (amongst others) he was on the way to implementing a philosophy and a vision for the club from the bottom up.
Quite if we'd match Barcelona - I doubt it, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi are out of this world and no one compares. Mascherano doesn't really come in to play IMO.

Well not all managers are playing pass and move, neither are they happy in possession - some are quite happy to play the percentages, others like to sit back, amongst many other tactics ... but surely I'm teaching you to suck eggs here?Originally posted by Kenneth View Post'Pass and move' / 'high possession' type manager eh? Now there's his brilliance you see. All of the other top managers are looking to develop a 'pass and stand still' / 'low possession' model of play.

He know that he would get injured and don't play much more anyway. Better sitting on the bench at a top club than being out injured for a poor team.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostMichael Owen:
Just to answer some of your tweets. Prefer playing less often in a top team than every game in a poor team. Been there a didn't enjoy it.Stop the cyberhate

He is a very good example of how important it is to have a good agent.Originally posted by Kenneth View Post
Should just admit he made **** career decisions that destroyed his career and reputation and now he's just trying to fill his trophy cabinets on the backs of others to satisfy his ego.

Of course he means Newcastle. He's not turning into some kind of uber-cunt. He's just a little Judas cunt. Besides, I don't think he wouldn't belittle his time at LFC. He was actually involved in winning things for us and hasn't repeated that throughout the rest of his career. LFC and a few England games will be his only legacy.Originally posted by Lee View PostI really hope he means Newcastle. But he doesn't, does he?! The little cunt.

How many careers have been destroyed thanks to greedy ****ty agents?
Agents that talks so much **** just so they can earn more money. Agents that want their client to move every season so they can earn even more money.
