I don't know why some people seems to think that Rafa isn't a pass and move type of manager. That is the way he want his team to play.

Give him the money and he would build the squad that way without any doubt at all.

He said himself that he wanted to build Inter that way. He wanted Inter to play high possession football.

I don't know why Rafa is painted out like a defensive type of manager. He made us the team that scored most goals in the Country. He made Inter play better attacking football. His Valencia team played excellent attacking football.

So, the evidence that Rafa isn't a pass and move high possession type of manager? I still wait on that.

Rafa want his team to dominate. That is the way he build his systems.
    Our team that day...........

Dudek; Carragher (Cheyrou, 82), Traoré, Hyypia, Riise; Gerrard, Diao, Hamann, Murphy (Smicer, 61); Heskey (Baros, 61), Owen.

So Rafa's team belittled our team that had Diao, Heskey and Troare in......not sure it was Barca level tbh

Or flip it, and Rafa beat us with Carew leading the line.

There are elements of truth to what he says but also massive differences. I think Rafa might well have been aiming for something closer to their model than is sometimes made out but we never really achieved the short passing or attacking flexibility inherent in the way Barcelona play. I think a much better analogy would be the Spain team of Del Bosque for what Rafa achieved and what he appeared to be aiming for tactically at least.

We obviously never managed to assemble as talented a set of individuals but the nature of the reforms made to the reserves and youth set up did indicate a philosophical link to the same footballing traditions as the current Barcelona and Spanish national teams.

                From Skysports Website

                @SkySportsbucko:
Could soon be a double raid on Lille for Newcastle United, according to reports in France. Lille confirmed at the start of the week that midfielder Yohan Cabaye is set to join the Magpies, while L'Equipe claims attacker Gervinho is also primed to move to St James' Park.
So Gervinho was linked with LFC and Arsenal and could end up at Newcastle

That cant be true. Surely Gervinho, who thinks he's that good and important that he can 'tease' the press about where his next move might be and insisted he'd only go to a CL club, cant possibly move to newcastle

Just maybe he can't tell everyone what club he will join because the deal isn't done yet

It would be very very stupid to say that he will join ???? and then the move crashes for some reason.

I think the conclusion is that Gervinho is a cunt trying to be a big note when he isn't anything better than average

I wouldn't want him if only based purely on the comedy haircut he sports!

He's also nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and I don't think he'd offer what we need in a player to make that leap forwards.

But in any case, nobody with a hairstyle like Gervinho's can claim any sense of intelligence whatsoever.

I love the fact that there's no Utd fear factor in Europe like there is in the prem.
