But he's been on everyone's radar for years now, even when he was at Partizan. No offense to Rafa but wanting to sign one of the best players from Serie A (which he was even then) is not exactly top scouting Shame he never succeeded though : /

Big difference with many other cases is we actually tried to sign Jovetic rather than just 'linked', only for Hicks & Gillett to refuse to release the funds - even though we had £30m in our pocket from the Alonso sale. He was 19 at the time.
