I kind of think it is part of the fun of friendlies - that players try tricks they wouldn't usually do. It would be unprofessional in a meaningful game, possibly even disrespectful but in a friendly it seems more an expression of skill and enjoyment of football to me.

That is the sort of things the spectators pay to see. If we take away that then football would be very boring.

It's disrespectful. I'm not against a bit of skill to beat your man, but to slow the pace down and then try and back heel it in as a kin to running through on goal at school, only to stop the ball on the line, kneel down and roll it in with your head.

People have been attacked with samurai swords in my Sunday league for less.
