A Theory. If Nasri goes it will be for big money. Utd will nearly break even on the Jones transfer thanks to Bruce. So they will have money after buying a keeper.

But then it will mean that Arsene will try harder not to sell Cesc and maybe they will sign Hazard.

Maybe Fergie has been planning on selling fringe players this summer anyway so that's money he has likely counted on. Reckon Nasri wont go United anyway, luckily. Hope they get De Gea who bombs and then they run out of cash.

I reckon their plan was De Gea, Young and a midfielder, but having bought Jones now they may have to change their plans. I doubt Nasri will go them.

Well it might well be true. Espn reporter saying Arsenal are going to bid 20m for Hazard soon

Well we've got Dann, Henderson, Adam and.......oh, I see what you mean

I do feel we are onto something and that they won't buy these players. If we look at the next two seaons then De Gea and Jones are not really making them that much stronger, they had a really good GK and their defence has been strong as well. Young coming might mean Nani going, it's very much like for like or even a downgrade but Sneijder/Nasri could improve them further though.

I'd think £3m-£4m for each is about fair. They might not be top end talent but they have proven to be tactically disciplined (bar Gibson) and have a winning mentality. They strike me as a bunch of Phil Nevilles - not outstanding but they have the qualities that help make strong teams. For teams with the ambitions of Sunderland or Everton I think they are about as good as any players they are likely to sign.

good way at looking at it...

i agree - a nasri/sneijder/modric type signing for united would be the real sickener

speaking of which - did you see david moyes has come out and said everton have no chance of finishing any higher than 7th - howard kendall kicking off calling it defeatist. - If everton don't spend (which i don't think they will) - they'd do well to finish top 10

I didn't. You have to agree with Moyes there. For a club of Everton's size even if they had a Barcelona style academy they would still be looking at selling players to pay debt. He's done a great job with the resources he has had there.

yeah agree - whilst he is obviously pretty much spot on - i can't see everton breaking into the top 6 as it stands - i was just suprised at how honest he was being, especially at the start of a transfer window - to me that pretty much confirms that they won't be spending - which i guess if ur an everton fan, must be hard to stomach - i can see them slipping down a bit - they should just accept defeat, sell us baines for £15m and use it to bring in 3 or 4 players to strengthen their squad to help their survival

in fact....i'd argue that we have 5 players that have zero use for us but would probably do ok there, as it would give them some squad depth - kyriakos, konchesky, poulsen, jovanovic and ngog. - those 5 for a combined say £15m to £20m would be a reasonably bit of business for them

so lets just give them those five, and we'll take baines - 1 player we really need, for 5 players one of which would be a direct replacement for baines

Don't Arsenal have any say in the matter? I can't see them strengthening United like that. Just IMO, but it's an unlikely transfer IMO. Just like IMO.
