Well, how about we give Everton £10m for Baines. They can then go out and sign N'Zogbia with that money.

    Happy to help.

I'm not really having that. If you replaced the word friendly with exhibition then I think the idea of entertainment becomes more apparent. The stop/kneel thing has no skill/joy to it. What Ballotelli did seems to have to me.

I think there is a massive problem in trying to attribute morality to actions of that sort on the football pitch.

You leave that "trick" for the training grounds. You don't try that when you are playing the best team in MLS and in front of full house of fans that came to see the real almost competitive entertainment not "cheap" circus stunts.

I get the impression that he wanted it to be an issue. I think his general arrogant demeanor will always work against him when it comes to judging something like this. A bit like the boy who called wolf.

I'm not expecting entertainment in that sense when watching friendlies; I expect it during a testimonial or a World XI vs a Celebrity XI. It's still a competitive game of football used to gain fitness, not to take the piss out of an opponent by grinding to a halt when bursting through on goal.

I don't understand why anyone expects a friendly to be anything but a glorified training session.

                That's a fair point.

Because I expect them to be playing for a starting place, as well as starting to implement some of the tactics they will have been working on during pre-season and tactics they will be using very shortly when the season starts.

They are more than a glorified training session. But I think we are moving away from the disrespectful nature of what he's done as apposed to when he's done it. I think it's wrong what he's done, you don't - happy to agree to disagree.

Anyone get the feeling that Arsenal are getting a bit desperate these days.

Give it 4 weeks and I think they will be bidding for Cole and Poulsen
I make no apologies, this is me

They were after Mark Schwarzer last year and I'm surprised they were not interested in Given especially as they had Clichy going the opposite way.

Kasami is a good prospect, I think he could do well there.
