Wenger's never built a decent defence for Arsenal. He inherited the legendary one, and those were his peak years as Arsenal manager. It was dragged out for years and when they retired he never adequately replaced them, other than with Sol Campbell.

The former claim is true but it is more about the units than the individuals. Cole, Clichy, Toure and Sagna are all very good defenders. If he stays fit I think Djourou will be a very important player for them.
