Yep...it's £7million that could go towards finding someone who'll score consistently which is far more important.

I think with a bit of imagination, a player of that calibre could be cost effective if we were to possibly redefine Lucas' role as a holding midfielder into a more creative one.

It wouldn't eat into our budget for wingers and a forward. However, this is just a personal opinion and won't be taken up by management.

I think he would be a fantastic signing, I think him and Agger would make an excellent pairing, but as many have said, we've got more pressing positions to improve before we need to worry about centre backs.
