    Lovely

How anyone keeps their cool after spat at I have no idea, always remember Diouf doing it to Arjan de Zeeuw.

I can't see any homophobic gestures or spitting at the ref

1st camera angle doesn't look good but 2nd one is better for the spitting incident

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsXtU1jln-g"]Raul Meireles did NOT spit. Different cameraview, CLOSE-UP - Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce. - YouTube[/ame]

Maybe he overreacts with the way he says son of a bitch but thats about it really
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Must have sprayed some spit on his face barking that close to him. Serves him right the knob head. Holding that badge like it actually means something to him.

Its typical of whats going in in Turkey at the Moment.
If you think we have it Bad with refs , its nothing compared to the bulls**t Fene are having to put up with at the moment.

They had a Player Sent Off for swearing in a Game recently....and it wasnt him it was the opposing player.

just before this Second yellow for meireles he was taken Out by a Gala Player and the ref played on and that was why he was annoyed with the ref & it was unstandable!!

The whole türkisch Football Federation is against Fene because of the power their president has in Turkey

Just goes to show how effective United are at creating chances. It's very depressing.

Carrick has been excellent this season. He had a bit of a tame/aimless season last year but I've generally rated him more than most and now United are making space for him to play in he is really showing what he can do.

Carrick's use of the ball in the last couple of months has been outstanding. I'm generally not a fan but he's been very good.

Always thought he was a decent player and never got the praise he should have had. Much underrated player and he was as influential then as he is now, but didn't stand out as much due to their better squad quality at the time.

I disagree, he really wasn't as influential before. He always had a look of class about him but never really delivered before and was, and remains, relatively weak defensively.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Agreed, and re your comment about his defensive work/off the ball stuff, I also agree - which is why I specifically praised his passing.

The defensive thing is interesting - I know at least two United fans who until this season would say he was decent defensively but bought nothing to attack. Don't watch enough United to have a detailed opinion but I thought he was poor when he didn't have a partner who also contributed something defensively.

In his first season and this season he has been a key player for United. Think there are times when he hasn't been that good though. I still think he has been unlucky not to play for England more though.

I was disagreeing with The Nige of course, as I'm contractually obliged to do.

He was a passer when he was at West Ham, that's what everyone knew him as. He's the nearest thing England have had to an Alonso or a Pirlo, except they both have a much superior range of passing which tends to overshadow the fact they're both remarkably effective in defence (Alonso more than Pirlo but still both are less lightweight than Carrick).

And I reckon much the same explains the otherwise inexplicable view of your Manchester United friends, except in reverse. To obscure his deficiencies in attack they concentrate on his defensive contribution. I hope that's clear - it made a lot more sense in my head.

                              I agree about England.
