Well the Mail headline is this:
Spurs winger Townsend suspended from football for FOUR months after breaching betting regulations (but suspended sentence means he won't miss a kick)
Tottenham winger Andros Townsend has been banned from all football and football activity for four months, three of which are suspended, after breaching betting regulations.
An independent regulatory commission hearing imposed the sanction, which has been backdated to May 23 when he voluntarily withdrew from the England Under-21 squad.
However, a statement released by the Football Association revealed that the three months of the ban have been suspended until July 1 2016.Hello mert.Comment

Hardly the stench of corruption. Still, you'd have thought they might have sentenced him so he missed a club game or two. But probably not worth us all getting on our high horses about FA double standards, etc..

It's stupid, if it has been decided that he is to be banned for a month that should be for a month in the season, as in effect he hasn't been banned at all
