    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Bayern Munich want him and have allegedly already contacted Atletico and talked with his agent and Maradona.

They wanted him before he went to Atletico too.

          So did we.

I'm not sure we actually bid for him. And i doubt he'd have got a work permit back then.

You're right about the work permit - he was only 17 at the time, but I seem to remember us heavily scouting him and being one of the more interested parties.

Mind you, every team worth their salt would have been keeping tabs.

It was down to Kuyt or Aguero IIRC.

We didn't had the money to sign both and we couldn't pay that kind of money for a young player that needed maybe two years until he would be excellent.

We needed players that could deliver straight away.

We simply couldn't make gambles on young players like him We didn't had the money to do it.

No one could know for sure that Aguero would deliver straight away in the very physical PL. We couldn't risk a top four place gambling on players like Aguero.

Well, arguably we failed in that regard, as Kuyt was bought as a prolific striker. Turned out he couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo, or move fast enough to get within striking distance of the cow. Somehow managed to reinvent himself as a hardworking right midfielder, and being within 50 foot of Kenny gives him super shooty powers. I always wondered what would have happened in the second CL final against Milan if we had some sort of goal threat up front.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

                    We'd be on six.

don't let the facts get in the way of a good story

We all want Kun and yeah it would have been great if we had signed him before but Dirks done OK too.

It was also the semi in which he scored a great goal against the Chavs which was wrongly disallowed. Never hear Maureen mentioning that tho funnily enough.

Shouldve been a place for Crouch in the final though- was only when he came on we scored. Pennant's atrocious delivery cost us that day- he had so much space & yet failed to provide 1 decent ball.
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Don't people claim he was our man of the match that day

                                Crouch should have started
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
