Only reason I'm getting a little interested is that the last time i got a text from this person about a signing it was Torres.. I have no idea if that was lucky guess or what and I'm not sure where he has got it from but just passing it on.. Beats reading pages and pages about Downing etc.

Well that's true. Even I let myself be optimistic at least once a day. I just think it would be too amazing to be true. Yeah sure, he's a great player and that but it would be the signal that it would send out. Basically says 'we're ****ing serious' and could help in the recruitment of other players when they see that.

As good a player he is, I wonder if we are in a position to spend £40m or whatever he'd cost on one player.. Especially when what we need in wingers, he's a player we'd have to fit in but would he necessarily fit into our system?
