If we let him slip again, especially to Juve, I will have to seriously question our ambitions. Aguero is a do-able deal - we have got several players Atletico would be interested in such as Meireles and Poulsen (don't laugh).

Agree about it being a side step if he should go to Juve. Would show a lack of ambition to me and wanting to be a big fish in a small pond. I doubt it will come off TBH but posted it in good faith.

I am well too thanks mate...

I am glad you actually understood my intent with reference to side way step... But like you say it probably will not come off....and taken in good faith...

Posting more often, may be if I have more time and am able to express my opinion more clearly...

If he is in fact willing to go, then the only reason I can see why he would not come to Liverpool is because we have not bid/inquired for him

I am 100% of the opinion if Liverpool FC made a bid for kun he'd jump at coming to the club.... there is no question in my mind... us or juve, it's a no brainer in my opinion.

My thoughts too....... Aguero is a player for today, he's at an affordable price really and we do have some players to offer in exchange, that AM would consider I am sure, in order to push a deal through...

I just get the feeling if he's someone the club have looked at then they should pursue it, because now is the right time to buy Aguero.... We need to build on our strenght and depth, but we also need to be showing some ambition too.... (IMO)

I wear lenses but still doesn't help much, there are still people on here that seem to read what you have not written, take it out of context or away from opinion, so on and so forth... disclaimer: present company excluded..

In all fairness it seems madness when we are spending £20m on Henderson and £35m on Carroll that we wouldn't even try and do a deal for Aguero, even at £40m.

I think we can offer him a fantastic challenge, and being out of the CL this season does not seem to be that great an issue for him if he is considering Juve.

NAIL ON HEAD .......... do you think the club might not actually rate him, in terms of being able to adapt the EPL, which is why we have not bid for him.
Could it be they see him as a luxury player, therefore someone we really don't need at this time., because at 40 million he's a steal and imo no bigger risk than spending 26million on louie.... or 35 million on Carroll, even with his limited EPL experience (and being english lol)

I don't think it's as black and white as 'if he's going to Juventus, then we must not have bid for him' ... perhaps he turned us down, along with Chelsea and Man City because he doesn't want to come to Liverpool for a number of reasons, perhaps it could be as simple as the weather or the tax implications.

If he doesn't want to come to Liverpool, fair enough. But I would hope that at least we have tried our best to sign him, that's all.

He is the calibre of player that will make us challenge for titles again very soon. Infact, I would go so far as to say that with him in the team we would have a genuine chance of winning the title next season.

It is Kennys fault he isn't coming, if he hadn't minced about down the bottom of the league and concentrated on winning the title we would be in the CL and be signing Mata, Auguero and Messi.

Can we have a version of this posted in massive great big letters in each speculative thread?

Can't count the amount of times I've seen people moan that we're not in for the top tier of allegedly available players, when not one single one of us knows whether or not that is the case. We're not going to find out if we've asked Aguero's agent, prior to approaching the club formally, whether or not he'd be interested in a move

Same could be said for a whole host of players. The only time we find out is, obviously, when we publically declare interest. Unless of course, we hear it from Meffin

Chelsea and Manchester City remain in the hunt for Sergio Aguero after his agent scotched reports that the striker has agreed to join Juventus.

Reports in Italy had claimed that the Serie A side had all but sealed a £40m deal for the Atletico Madrid star, after his representatives met with Juve officials in Turin.

The news would have ruled out a move to the Premier League for the Argentina international, who has been a long-term target for the two English sides.

But Hernan Reguera, who represents the 23-year-old, has insisted that no such meeting has taken place and that his client's future is still undecided.

"Sergio has two agents and we have both been in Argentina, we have not met anyone," Reguera told Spanish newspaper AS.

"We have not been in Italy or anywhere, we are in Argentina working on his future. He is quiet, he has delegated this to us and is now focused on the Copa America."

                              I said the same

I cannot see how on earth Juve could afford him. His wages would be outrages plus a transfer fee of close to 40m.

Juve link is no story to me.

Didn't need the agents to deny the story to be honest. Juventus can't afford to pay £16 million for one of their star performers last season (Aqua). This was always a non story. Just hope we're working silently in the background. Though, not sure if he's what we need right now.
