I think that he will keep a lot of the money from his image rights so if he is the highest paid player or not won't really matter. The image rights is worth more money than the wages. It's easy to forget that.Stop the cyberhate

Come on Arn. Big clubs are run at a deficit. Why? Because of massive wages paid out to who? Yep, to players.Originally posted by Arn View PostI think that he will keep a lot of the money from his image rights so if he is the highest paid player or not won't really matter. Aguero's shirt sales etc will not recoup ~£250k per week in wages. Not a chance.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

I dont get that though - why have you made the assumption that he's the kind of bigtime charlie that has to be the highest paid player at the club? What's that based on?Originally posted by Rich View PostMy point is. Why would Aguero accept £150k a week when you've got players like Tevez and Yaya Toure on north of £200k a week. Even Abebayor is meant to be on £170k a week.
I'm sure Aguero will sign a massive contract at City and one we couldn't hope of matching.

he may not be but his agent will surely want his player to have parity with the other top earners? otherwise he'll look a **** agent.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont get that though - why have you made the assumption that he's the kind of bigtime charlie that has to be the highest paid player at the club? The contract he's on at Atletico plus the size of the transfer fee plus the speculation that he'd prefer Real Madrid all points to a massive contract. And finally, would you accept £150k a week if you knew that others that weren't deemed good enough were on more cash than you? Not sure I would unless I was desperate to move to the club.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont get that though - why have you made the assumption that he's the kind of bigtime charlie that has to be the highest paid player at the club? I don't think Aguero is desperate to join City for just the love of the club.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

I highly doubt that getting him a £150k p/w salary, on top of a big signing on fee, will make him look a **** agent. He's wanted a move to a big club and there's nobody in football doing bigger things than Man City right now. Job done.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Posthe may not be but his agent will surely want his player to have parity with the other top earners? otherwise he'll look a **** agent.
At £150k, he's hardly going to be a pauper in the dressing room. He doesnt have to be THE top earner. I see no reason why he would demand that.
As i've already said, £150k is hardly chicken-feed. Yes he'll want big money, but that IS big money. I see nothing to suggest why he insist on being THE biggest earner, there's no real logic in that for me - unless he's an egotistical prick and bigtime charlie, which i dont think he is.Originally posted by Rich View PostThe contract he's on at Atletico plus the size of the transfer fee plus the speculation that he'd prefer Real Madrid all points to a massive contract. Man C will build him up as their big star. He will be the player City will use to market the team. They have many great players but no one like Aguero.Originally posted by Rich View PostCome on Arn. Big clubs are run at a deficit. Why? Because of massive wages paid out to who? Yep, to players.

It's not only shirt sales etc, it's what he earns doing commercials for example that have nothing to do with City. If he can keep most of that money then it will easily be worth more than £100k a week. How much will he earn from a company like Nike or Adidas for example?
That means that his wages would be £150k a week plus most of the money from his image rights.Stop the cyberhate

he is there top marquee signing and surely his agent knows they are desperate to sign him. I think he will be getting 200k+ a week and thats why others were scared off.
Why go to city if its not for te money and its not the club he wants to be at 'aalegedly'_____________________________________
