Paolo di Canio says Swindon fans should not criticise him

Paolo di Canio has said that concerned Swindon Town fans should trust in his ability and that he would be hard to replace if he should leave the club. The Robins lost 2-0 to Crewe on Saturday, two weeks after a heated derby defeat to 10-man Oxford, but Di Canio says fans should remain calm. "I am the manager and they are the fans," he told BBC Wiltshire. "They should hope that I am the manager in the future because it's difficult to find another manager like me." Di Canio continued: "There are always some silly fans, probably the same fans that didn't want Paolo di Canio, who after three defeats they said 'we told you that he is not a good manager'. "Now they have waited for our first defeat. Maybe when we finish at the top they say we should finish with 130 points. "I'm not worried about this because I am too strong, too good, too intelligent, but I want to say to the others 'don't follow the stupid'." Di Canio added that the vast majority of the fans were supportive of the team, but he remains annoyed that there are a small group who are criticising his decisions. "There is some intelligence from the fans," he added. "It's obvious that 99% of the fans are intelligent; they follow us. They don't start to be snobby and maybe judge us after one game. "They can comment and say they prefer this player or that player, but they don't judge like they are a manager at the top level. "Ninety-five per cent of fans are amazing because they love this club, but there are a small number of fans who criticise in a silly, pathetic way."

          Brilliant.

I love hearing him go off on one.

The young keeper seems to have learned a valuable lesson though.

            And all ok now...

I find his honesty quite refreshing.

The fact he's completely barmy makes it more entertaining, granted.

It's quite hard to take him seriously talking about others behaviour - funny as **** but it surely can't be taken seriously.

I mean thehe ref push alone would be enough but add in things like the fascist salutes & storming out of training and moaning about having inferior teammates; bit rich him moaning about others behaviour!

Paolo Di Canio blames Aden Flint for Swindon Town exit

Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio says Aden Flint was to blame for their 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round derby defeat by Oxford.
The 23-year-old had just come on as a substitute when his collision with team-mate Darren Ward led to Alfie Potter's 88th-minute winner.
"Flint came in tonight as if he was on holiday and this is not acceptable," Di Canio told BBC Wiltshire.
"He has to take the responsibility. We lost because of him."

He continued: "It was like on Sunday when we lost for Wes [Foderingham]. We lost because of a stupid moment.
"He's a good professional but he has to improve."
Flint, who arrived at the County Ground from Alfreton in 2011, was first-choice at centre back at Swindon last season, alongside Alan McCormack.
But he now faces competition from summer arrivals Ward and Troy Archibald-Henville.
Di Canio added: "Flint's a good guy but he's got a big limit. This is why I brought in Darren Ward.
"I told them 'don't feel hurt when I bring in new players who can challenge your position'.
"Some of my players have to go one step forward if they want to become real footballers. Some of them weren't League One footballers.
"They have to know what they want to do in their life."

That rug really tied the room together.

Sounds like he might be getting a little frustrated down there.

                          He's a total tosspot.

Mouthing off to the press and slagging his players off like that is extremely ****tish. No wonder he has had so many bust ups with his players.

They're all unprofessional or there is the common link of Di Canio.

They are Swindon Town players, so I can imagine they don't quite have the dedication or professionalism he's accustomed to.
