    FA Women's Cup Final

    Anybody watching it?

I can't work out how many notches off of Sunday League the standard is.

I was going to say it's secondary school standard, but I think that's being kind.

Is Richards Keys the host? Andy Gray on commentary duty?

        Ha!

It would have made it a whole lot more interesting. I'm dreading the football-less summer now.

          You seen the first goal?

The air kick, the fall on the arse, the non-tackle, the keeper falling over in the wrong direction ... it's like a comedy sketch.

Listening to the commentator eulogising about Bristol's fantastic goalie, and how she's been amazing all season ... all because she fumbled a save she could have caught.

Which then leads to a cross coming, Arsenal get a head in on goal which pretty much goes through her hands.

There only seems to be one pace too -a solid run, which they all do in the direction of the ball.

At the risk of sounding sexist, or as I would call it here, "correct", I've never seen women's football that - as Muddled says - is anything more than on a par with sunday league games.

Bad passes, weak kicks, **** shots that somehow go in because female goalkeepers are even worse than the ropy strikers... and yet every year or two, the debate resurfaces in the media: "Why aren't female footballers paid the same as men?" as they ignore the rather obvious answer that they are no way as good and hundreds of thousands of people are not willing to pay to see the games at the grounds or via a TV subscription.

Don't get me wrong - there's load of things women can do almost as well as men. Although I did nearly **** myself getting on a plane recently when a woman's voice welcomed us over the tannoy. But it was ok - she was just a stewardess and both pilots were male.
