Threw the remote to the other half at the final whistle. Downside is that we've got Britain's Got Talent on now

I feel for both them and Birmingham.

44 league games in the championship and then add the cups games + the Europa now. They'll struggle if they don't have a huge squad.

Everton 1 - 0 Chelsea: Denied the services of Didier Drogba, who was out with a groin injury, Ancelotti fielded Nicolas Anekla and Fernando Torres in attack.

The duo failed to gel and, as so often since his January move from Liverpool, Torres was virtually anonymous.

Still can't believe Wigan stayed up. All season i was convinced they were going down.

Fulham's players have collected 12 yellow cards and one red in the last 3 PL games. Are their players trying to avoid something by any chance?

4.10pm: A scare for Wigan as Jon Walters turns the ball in from close range for Stoke, but the goal is disallowed for an offside against the Republic of Ireland international.

4.21pm: Park Ji-sung gets on the end of a Dimitar Berbatov pass to put United ahead against Blackpool. As it stands, the bottom three remains the same as it did at the start of the day, with Blackpool and Wigan joining West Ham in the Championship.

4.23pm: Blackburn go 1-0 up at Wolves as Jason Roberts deflects in a Michel Salgado shot. A win would be enough to preserve Rovers' top-flight status, and as it stands Wolves are still safe as well.

4.32pm: United denied a penalty when Charlie Adam appears to trip Park in the box.

4.39pm: Blackburn add a second against Wolves through Brett Emerton. Wolves drop beneath Birmingham on goal difference as it stands into 17th place, but still safe.

4.41pm: Adam drills in a superb free-kick to bring Blackpool level at United. Wolves drop into the bottom three, with the Seasiders going above them on goals scored into 17th.

4.47pm: Blackburn go 3-0 up as Junior Hoilett evades two challenges before firing home. Wolves are now behind Blackpool on goal difference.

4.50pm: Half-time at all four games involving the five teams fighting for survival. Wolves and Wigan were set to join West Ham in the Championship at the halfway stage, with four teams locked together on 40 points and only two of them - Birmingham and Blackpool - in positions of safety.

                        5.05pm: Second half action resumes.

5.08pm: Adam has another free-kick tipped over the top by United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.

5.09pm: Birmingham slip into the bottom three alongside Wigan and West Ham as Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko curls a shot past Ben Foster.

5.16pm: Blackpool go 2-1 up at Old Trafford as Gary Taylor-Fletcher touches home David Vaughan's low cross. Wigan and Birmingham remain the teams in 18th and 19th, with Wolves only above Wigan on goals scored.

5.22pm: United get back on level terms at 2-2 through Anderson, but Blackpool stay 16th as it stands.

5.32pm: Wolves pull one back at Blackburn as Jamie O'Hara steers home Stephen Hunt's free-kick. Their goal difference improves to -21 to keep them above Wigan.

5.34pm: Blackpool defender Ian Evatt diverts Chris Smalling's cross past Matt Gilks to put Ian Holloway's men 3-2 behind at Old Trafford. Blackpool drop back into 19th, alongside 18th-placed Birmingham on 39 points while Wigan go safe.

5.36pm: Chelsea striker Fernando Torres hits is 3rd air shot, nothing to do with relegation but quite funny all the same.

5.38pm: Hugo Rodallega puts Wigan 1-0 up at Stoke with a header, and seconds later Craig Gardner equalises for Birmingham at Tottenham with a cracking shot. Wolves drop back into the bottom three alongside Blackpool, with Mick McCarthy's men trailing Birmingham on goal difference.

5.41pm: Michael Owen makes it 4-2 to Manchester United as Blackpool look doomed to finish on 39 points. Gardner hits the crossbar for Birmingham, who know one more goal for Wolves would put them back in the bottom three.

5.46pm: Wolves cut the deficit to 3-2 at Blackburn with a goal from Hunt. Birmingham are back in the danger zone on goals scored.

5.53pm: Pavlyuchenko blasts in a second to put Tottenham 2-1 up against Birmingham. Blues and Blackpool are down with 39 points as it stands in the dying seconds.

5.56pm: Blackpool and Birmingham are relegated from the Premier League. Wolves finish on 40 points, Wigan's win takes them to 42 and Blackburn end the day on 43 points.

Smashing volley by Emerton. I'd take him as a squaddie. Good player.

Only just seen all the results. Glad Blackpool and Birmingham have gone down

Disappointed we missed out on the Europa, but I think with the right signings we can challenge for the top 4 again next season so onwards and upwards

                                I think he's a purple-patch merchant, if i ever saw one.

Thinks he's much better than he is, too. A proper big time Charlie, if you will.
