Blades fans welcome Danny Wilson

Sheffield United have appointed lower league 'journeymanager' and ex Wednesday (AKA 'Pig') player & manager Danny Wilson. He also managed Barnsley, has a record of not getting out of League 1 and has recently been sacked by Swindon.

The fans turn up at Bramall Lane today to welcome their new manager.

A few of my mates from back home are Blades fans. They are incandescent. I searched 'Danny Wilson' on Twitter last night when the story broke, it was 100% backlash. Here are a few tweets I enjoyed.

Apparently Wilson fought off fierce competition. The board's 2nd choice was a dream team of Gerry 'Hair' Francis and Kenny Sansom!

They hired Micky Adams just a few months ago, and he was a bit of a disaster.

Although much of the damage was done before he came in. Lifelong Sheffield United fan to the rescue...it didn't work out like that.

He was doing well at Port Vale too.

Yep, they were flying, he left them to go to Sheff United, Port Vale crumbled and Micky Adams didn't win a game at Sheff U for months!

He ended up winning about 2 games, they sacked him and he went straight back to Port Vale. What a waste of six months.
