As PTP said they are the best team I have ever watched as I wasn't around to watch Kenny and his golden generation.

They have really nothing to prove as they won everything they could in last 5,6 years and done so repeatedly and in the style that the world has not seen before.

They don't need to win few more to be a dynasty. They already are the dynasty and any other CL title will only add to their unparalleled legacy.

          'Marky Rudo' in baiting/WUMery shocker.

I think he does it here on est because its a smaller forum then other places in terms of numbers. He thinks he is getting noticed.

In a sense a big fish in a small pond.

But he's wrong, he's' not even a fish. Your a nothing'

          ave it.

Going back to the wonderful Milan side of the late 80s-mid 90s, between 1988-89 and 1994-95, they reached the final 5 times in 7 seasons, winning 3 of them. That's ****ing staggering.

Obviously our side that reached 4 finals in 9 years, also staggering, especially since we won 4 of them.

Having given it some thought, i think both of those sides stand up against this Barca side, in terms of achievement at the very least, if not style of play.

And then you've got the Ajax side of the 70s, who reached 4 finals in 5 years, winning 3 in a row. Total football and all that. Bayern Munich who won it 3 times on the spin in the 70s.

And then you've got the amazing Internazionale side of the 60s who reached 3 finals in 4 years, winning twice. And Benfica, also in the 1960s, who reached 4 finals in 5 seasons, with 2 wins.

And obviously the Real side who won the first 5 European Cups in a row, back in the 50s.

Hard to pick But it shows the standard of the truly greatest ever sides.

at the moment they are fantastic, but let's remember 7 / 8 years ago they weren't particularly good, let's not people rewrite history here please, and as for they'll win everything for the next 10 or 20 years, we heard the same thing when Mourinho arrived at Chelsea and look what happened

people going a little bit overboard, not just on here, but in the media.

The next few years will tell the tale.

what amazes me is how many people seem shocked by what they saw last night! not so much on here, but on the radio/tv/papers - the people who bleat on about how good the premier league is and how much barca would struggle against stoke on a wednesday december night - all these people are now raving about barca, about how good they are, like they've just discovered sliced bread and are shocked by how much they dominated the mancs

Barca did nothing 'special' last night - they just did what they have been doing to teams all season - it doesn't matter if they play man utd, real madrid or tranmere rovers - they play at that same level of just out of this world brilliance so consistently it's just gobsmacking

wonderful side - a joy to watch - after the 5-0 thumping of real madrid - me and my mate coined the phrase football porn - last night was hardcore

As silly as this may sound I never want to see that Barca team broken up because they are such a joy to watch. The Arsenal invincibles were a quality team but this Barca team are outstanding.

I was saying to my missus in the 25 odd years I've been watching football I have never seen a team like them before. They are on another ****ing planet.

Like you've said PTP they did to Utd last night what they do to pretty much every other team they come against on a weekly basis.

Astounding, the day that team breaks up will be a sad one for world football. I just hope that one day we can play like them using a similar philosophy.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

obviously they will fall at some point all teams do.

however as shaggy has already pointed out 3 EC in 6 years, on that alone they are up with the best ever.

also look at the way they do it. the way in which they totally dominate and dont bore,

for me the sign of there greatness was the 5 0 against madrid, the millions and the special one.

i would think there is another EC in this team. Of course i think there are more but you tend not to see the fall but i cant see a fall before they win another one or maybe two

The reason to why they are so great are down to three Dutch managers that created the excellent passing game tactic and made the Academy teams play in the same way as the first team.

Cruyff, Van Gaal and Rijkaard. They play very similar football to how Ajax played 35 years or so ago when they dominated.

Pep hasn't improved the attacking game that much. What he improved is the way they are defending.

They are the best defensive team by a mile. That is what is most impressing. Sure they excellent attacking but that is down to their excellent defence.

But they don't need to defend too much Arn, that's the thing. They have the vast majority of possession in every single game hence their defence isn't tested as much. In football, possession is key.

I certainly think you can get at that Barca defence.

The reason to why they have so much possession is down to their defence. When they lose the ball they chase you down like hungry ants and take the ball back very quickly.

Would Masch make it as a central defender in any other team? Probably not but he is an excellent central defender in their defensive system.

Their defensive system isn't much about tackling. It is down to excellent movement off the ball and Kuyt type hard work by the whole team.

That's not really their 'defence' though Arn, it's just the pressing they do throughout the team, starting at the front.

Pressing is a big part of defending.

That is the key bit that made us the number one in Europe a few years ago.

We also pressed teams all over the pitch. The difference being that they have excellent creative players in every position.

We had a lot of hard workers that could do the pressing bit but lacked creativity. We had much possession but not the creative players to make the possession effective.

Barcelona have the world class creative players to make the possession effective.
