And yes, we did similar (although, not to the same level, i'd say) under Rafa.

Too ****ing right man we did, that side for a couple of seasons was a match for barca back then, might not have been with as much finesse as what were witnessing now but we were definitely as well refined and feared as this great barcelona side.

I really believe that an LFC under Rafa playing against that brilliant Barca team, would have pressed them all 90mins, forced into mistakes and taken some chances, better than utd team. Barca are a class team, but utd pressed them for best part of 10mins and were clueless.

Rafa's Reds in their pomp would av gave Barca a run for their money that's for sure.

Watching Champions League football makes me instantly think of Rafa. He was the best manager on the European Stage for 2-3 years.

I do miss the man at times

I don't understand how we were so good in the CL but finished over 20 points off the pace in the League. That is 7 victories. Surely the CL doesn't make that much of a difference?

Rafa is an excellent tactical manager. That means that your team will always have a chance whatever team they play against.

He also trained the squad to be at their best when the knock-out stages begun. The second half of the season.

I know people claiming Rossi is being bought for the first XI and will replace Pedro.

                        Like Pedro needs replacing.

Barcelona is like an own country. The banks will loan them whatever money they need. It is good business even if they don't get the money back.

The money they loan out is nothing compared to what they and the city earn because of the FC Barcelona success.

They won't create a problem if Barcelona is late with the payments.

Yeah but how does that fit in with the UEFA FFPR?

If the banks loan them a lot of money against almost no interest then it won't be a problem.

Say that they loan them £50m against a 1 or 2% interest rate. Then the banks can claim that they will get the money back and the club won't have a problem paying it back.

The new shirt deal also means that the debt won't be a problem.

Surely bank loans dont count as 'self generated income' though?
