    Stunning goal

    Roberto Carlos part 2?

Just watch the movement of the ball, from 30 seconds onwards...

Modern footballs are weird. The orange stingers that I learnt to play with never did that ****. Although maybe it was just me. Probably a bit of both.

The backspin delays the lateral curve - must be a ****ing mare for a keeper. Normally only happens when someone really wallops the ball. Which he certainly did

I remember Batistuta scoring a great goal for Fiorentina vs Arsenal which had loads of dip and late lateral curve. Real belter, will see if I can find it.

Not saying it wasn't a wonderful strike but I agree with this fella's post on the Youtube page:

This isn't a great strike, it just highlights how **** modern footballs are. He hits it and it's going centrally which would have been a simply tipped over the bar, then the ball curls in 5 different directions and goes in. He might as well score a goal like that with a beach ball on holiday in Cyprus or something because there was no technique involved. He just hit it. FIFA have ruined football with these **** balls that just fly away every time you touch them
Roberto Carlos's strike was a bit different, he cut across it massively and aimed for that swerve. One of the best goals ever that one

it's like the old fairground footballs. on first appearance, great goal. then you see he has no idea where its going. any old cunt can smack one these days and get lucky.

I agree that he was lucky and there was no special technique involved. Even he thought "oh my god" when it went in because he just hit that & hoped. Dont get me wrong it was at least on target so from that distance with that much power it was a good shot, just not a great one. The balls need to be changed back.

Its more the ball than what the player did there. The new balls are **** fly aways these days.

It's just a fluke, nothing more.

You lot You'd be pissed if you were the keeper, but come on, a completely fluke? He is a bit fortunate with the swerve at the end but to strike the ball that sweetly from that far out is unbelievable
