If only he was called "Wayne Rooney" he'd have probably got away with it. Or had some lawyers to object to the length of his ban.

The odds for over an 8 game ban were actually pretty good with one bookie too. I thought that was stealing money.

Seriously, can someone please link me a video to the alleged headbutt. I can only see the incident as possibly being the part of the bust up where lLescott has his hand on Barton's head and pushes him.

I havent seen any bit where Barton wilfully attempts to butt someone

Barton's support for Hillsborough aside, he deserves a 12 match ban - what he did was completely out of order. If he were a foreign player the FA probably would have banned him for 20 games!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Barton doesn't belong in the professional game.

Yep it's Barton - allegedly - after two 21 year old started on him. If true then I feel a bit sorry for him - he should be able to go out and not have to put up with **** like that.

                            Yeah.

It is thought that Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has been injured during an incident in Liverpool City Centre early this morning.

Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Eberle Street at 5.30am following reports of an altercation outside a nightclub. A 29 year old man, believed to be Joey Barton, had suffered some injuries to his his face and left the scene voluntarily.

Two 21 year old men were later arrested for a public order offence. They are currently in police custody.

Police would not confirm that the injured 29 year old was Barton.
