Is there a chance of Aquilani playing in our pre-season friendlies does anyone think? I hope so.

I would imagine so, either to get him fit for the season with us or to put him back in the show window.Originally posted by Gibbo9 View PostIs there a chance of Aquilani playing in our pre-season friendlies does anyone think? I agree wholeheartedly. We paid 20m for for Aquilani. Lennon's worth 9m tops, including the added premium for being English, and would command similar wages.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think I would prefer to keep Aquilani than swap him for Lennon, I've never been convinced by Lennon.
Alberto's a good player. If someone comes in with a decent offer, then we should listen. But otherwise, even if he just ends up as a squad player, I'd rather have him coming on as an attacking midfield substitute than Cole or El Zhar any day.

I think he could do quite well if we continue to play a similar system to what we were playing in the back end of last season. Of course if we get a decent offer for him I think we should take it, but we should at least wait and see how he goes in friendlies before he's totally written off. Agreed he probably needs to harden up a bit. Could also be quite effective coming on in last 15-20 mins coming in against a tiring midfield.

And how would you categorize Lennon then?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBased on what exactly?
He's average at best, i'd be delighted to see him go to Spurs in exchange for Lennon.
Personally I'd take Aqua man over Lennon any day of the week.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I'm prepared to give the lad some more time now that he's over his injuries that he arrived with 2 years ago. I hope he proves some people wrong and goes well and I really think Lennon is well over rated.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Here's a good compilation of his contribution against Portsmouth. I like his movement. With Kenny in charge and him liking his players to get around I think if we do keep him he could prove to be valuable.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

I watch that and think meh. It was against a poor team, he is slow with his first touch, and while there were a few nice long passes there were plenty that were inaccurate. And that was possibly his best game. Not enough for me.Originally posted by jono View PostHere's a good compilation of his contribution against Portsmouth. I like his movement. He was our best player when he got the chance to play more often. He created a lot of chances and had a few assists.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBased on what exactly?
