If only we knew if he was happy here or wanted to go home!

Kenny Dalglish admits he has no qualms about welcoming Alberto Aquilani back to Liverpool.

The Italian midfielder appears destined to return to the Reds at the end of the season with AC Milan currently refusing to activate the compulsory purchase clause during his loan spell at the San Siro.

Aquilani remains four appearances short of the automatic clause threshold but appears that he will complete a second unsuccessful stint in his homeland since joining from AS Roma three years ago.
KENNY DALGLISH has urged AC Milan to play fair with Alberto Aquilani as the confusion over the Liverpool FC midfielder’s future continues.

Aquilani is approaching the end of a season-long loan at the San Siro, with Milan having agreed to pay £6million to make the deal permanent once the Italian has played 25 games.

It is understood the Serie A side are reluctant to activate the clause in an attempt to bring Liverpool back around the negotiating table.

However, the Anfield outfit are unlikely to further lower the asking price of a player who cost £17million to sign from Roma in August 2009.

And Dalglish has issued a warning at Milan to stop changing the goalposts.

“I don’t know what to expect of anyone else, but if you think that you are representing your club in a fit and proper manner, that’s your call,” said the Liverpool manager.

“We’ve done everything right from our side. However they want to play it, that is up to them. He is our player. If they don’t want him, then tell the boy.”

It was believed Aquilani’s transfer would proceed given the 27-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Rossonieri already this season.

But, with only 16 having been starting roles, Milan claim under the terms of the agreement that the other 12 substitute outings are regarded as half-appearances, leaving him three short of the trigger figure with five Serie A games remaining.

Milan may now choose to leave Aquilani out of their squad for the rest of the season to prevent him reaching the 25-game mark.

Yeah, our midfield looks a lot thinner without Adam.

Read somewhere he got 6 assists and 1 goal in 21 games at Milan. Thats not a bad return really.

Also read that Milan had agreed a deal for Montolivo on a free as he is out of contract in the summer and that's why they aren't bidding on Aquliani. Would make sense, a less injury prone player for less money in the same position.

FFS we should be in for montolivo on a free..

Oh wait, we sign Jovanovic and Voronin on a free.

We should at least let Milan think we're in for him, we should just play their game and be dicks about it.
