We never had a prayer for a good outcome. Milan had Galliani as negotiator, we had Comolli. The same Comilli who thought 35 million was worth paying for Carroll and 20 million for Downing. Galianni on the other hand is the king of picking players up on the cheap like Zlatan and Robinho.

No place for him in Italy's prelim squad of 32.

How can he have 24.5 appearances?

The terms of the deal stipulate that a substitute appearance counts as "0.5" FFS.

Sub appearances are half appearances under the magnificient loan terms we negotiated

I dunno about everyone else, but I wouldn't mind him coming back, could be a cheaper option for the bench than buying another player, still thinks he has it in him.

                    Odd way of doing it.

Then again, which ever way they did it, they'd make sure he didn't hit the purchase trigger target anyway, so it makes little difference really.

if he can settle here for a year, may as well keep him.

By all accounts there's no chance but yeah in pure football terms I'd take him back. He wouldn't be our saviour but I think he's a good player and better than a number of ours. Think he's better than Adam, Spearing obviously, and Henderson and Shelvey presently. But there's no hope so we're wasting our time

Whatever we do with him, FFS lets not wait until a week before the new season kicks off to make a decision.

This deal alone makes me think there is someone at this club, who isn't very bright yet being paid like he's a genius.

A common theme in football it seems.

It says a lot to me that Milan havent bought him

Irrespective of how that deal was constructed if he was that good they'd be paying the money

People talk about some of our current signings being the worst ever, for me Aquilani will rank right up there.

We will not get a penny back for him

Terrible terrible signing by Rafa that has cost the club dearly
