To be fair, Villas-Boas has only had one full season in management. No doubt he did brilliantly last year but its way to early to assume that he will be able to replicate this at a bigger club and in a much more competitive league. Also, with his age I'm not even sure how some of the senior players at Chelsea will take to him unless they can get Hiddink to come in as Director of Football to take some of the pressure off.
Aye, this could be a brilliant appointment but it could also be a total disaster for Chelsea.

It is a big gamble and a strange move. Hiddink was allegedly a done deal and Pep would replace him after a year.

Why would Guardiola want to leave Barcelona for Chelsea of all places?
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

And many thought that Ancelloti would do the job for the Chavs so I'm not worried who they sign personally. I'd be more concerned if they'd signed Guus

There's no guarantee that he'd do well working with a cunt like Abramovic.

An exciting young manager without a doubt, will be very interesting to see how he handles himself in the English league with more pressure on him.

But **** me that's an expensive manager signing, must be the most expensive ever!

Drogba out Falcao in? I'll be gutted if they sign Hulk

We might as well not even bother next season now.

I'm glad he's gone there in a way. He could be absolutely amazing, or he could fail terribly. There are a lot of big egos at Chelsea, and he will be under immense pressure to deliver straight away. This will make things very interesting!

It'll certainly be interesting to see how much control he gets over transfer and managerial decisions rather than just the coaching side. I have a feeling that most of Chelsea's big summer targets have already been decided. But if he can go for some of his old players I wouldn't be too worried about Falcao or Hulk joining, Hulk particularly just plays like Milan Baros on steroids.

Agreed; since Mourinho it hasn't exactly been a stable place for managers.

If he doesn't win the CL he will be sacked. That is all he needs to know. Massive risk for him to take this job at this stage of his career - following in his 'mentors' footsteps as well. Like I said, big risk.

Well ****, there goes one of my bets. I shook hands with a chelsea fan that we would finish above them.
                                1 Tenner down.

Heard about this on the radio this morning and i was hoping he would turn them down.

Premeirship just got that little bit more interesting.
