Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Delighted Brazil & Argies are out, both are embarrassing in comparison to previous Brazil & Argentina sides or the past. The likes of Spain,Holland & Germany are way ahead of them IMO.

IMO the Argies have a horrific defence and midfield that lacks leadership and cohension, their forward line is incredible but the balance seems bit off, as for Brazil it's one of the worst Brazil teams ever IMO, they seem stuck somewhere in between the South American style of play & the European style of play, but playing neither very well & lacking an end product, which is unheard of for the Brazil national side. Their actually a bit boring IMO.

Love to see Uruguay winning it but of course the downside of that means Suarez would be playing more football, Chile a great to watch aswell, so if they won i'd be happy.

Um, the atomic bomb disagrees with this theory.

Doesn't really matter now that they're in the semi's, as they will either play the final, or the match deciding who comes 3rd/4th. Better that they win it now

Glad Chile are out, to much like Arsenal, cant defend and waste 10 chances a game by dithering.

Neymar and Ganso were a massive let down for Brazil.

I thought Brazil’s back 6 did very well last night and their forwards let them down badly. Lucas and Ramires were solid in the centre, the FB’s got forward to good effect and Thiago Silva played well. Once it got to the final third they were very disappointing though. There was no cohesion or shape to their forward line and the players rarely linked well. They must also have weighed in at a combined total of 15 stone and lacked any sort of presence. The FB’s was their best source of attack, but they had no targets to hit. Add a Ronaldo or Adriano to that forward line and they’d have won easily last night, but as it was they were pretty predictable up top bar the odd bit of skill.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Must admit being ill (manflu) so I dozed off a lot, but I thought Maicon was a bit rubbish actually. They were also frustrating down their left.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

A lot of crosses went astray, whether that be because of the pitch or not having much of a target, but I felt most of their best play came down the wings and their FB’s were as much of an attacking threat (whilst staying solid at the back) as any of their forwards. Robinho came into it a bit when Paraguay started tiring, but he still didn’t do enough.

they are really lacking something that you wouldn't expect from a Brazil side.
