Fair enough of course but I must admit I don't get it at all. I can see it's boring and we have no control over it but I still think it's important. These f*ckers are stealing from us.

For instance, the government has just announced a plan to subsidise solar power generation. This sounds like a good thing. But the way it's organised it's just a massive payout to power companies and to rich individuals who can afford to install solar panels in their homes. You and I and everyone else here are paying the wealthy to generate power for nothing.

We can change it if enough of us get together and make them stop. But we don't.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Surely if it's subsidised it's to the benefit of the less wealthy?
      Are we winning?

No, Bogbrush. The subsidy comes out of government income (i.e. us, not wealthy tax avoiders). It goes to power companies for their solar power generation and to houseowners who install the technology. The technology is expensive and therefore not affordable to many, even though it might save money in the long-term, thanks to the subsidy. So the people who install them are the relatively few who can afford to do so.

Now who do you think that is? People with a lot of money or people who don't have a lot of money?

I thought the subsidy was meant to reduce those prices but I get what you mean. Thanks for that explanation sac a puces.

            You're welcome.

By the way, many tax avoiders are ex-pats.

Also before Barca and AC Milan, were "The Lisbon Lions". Celtic team of 67' who won the European Cup. The players, were all born within a 30-mile radius of Parkhead. That is a pretty astonishing feat.

Different times my friend. Football has evolved and I'm pretty sure it was pretty common with a lot of teams back in the day. What's astonishing is how Barca are managing to do that now, since around the turn of the millennium. They used to buy a lot of their star players (although not pay the amount that Real did/do for players). What Ajax achieved in the Mid 90's was pretty special too - some of those players are still around now
