It's a sound model though - they make their own squad members with the Da Silvas, Fletcher, Evans, etc. but buy in first teamers when they need them - focussing on those proven in the league. It is a very sensible use of their position in the division.

you'd have to give Fergie "the little pea" good signing that and for only £7 M or so, doesn't quite counter the cash laid out for the likes of Veron, Hargreaves, Bebe or the £17 odd Million for Tosic and Ljajic you could even chuck in Carrick, Anderson to that list of dodgy signings!

But then those don't really matter do they!

Hernandez was an excellent, excellent buy, probably the best buy last season in Europe. Cost as much as Bebe While they will have very good strength in depth I think they have maybe not strenghtened beyond the reach of Chelsea or City who will be the top three IMO, then it's us, Arsenal and Tottenham for fourth...

I dont think they will walk it but they are obviously going to be favourites!! I think modric will definitely go to Chelsea and Im sure there will be alot more activity from them, and I think boas will do really well next season!! I think Arsenal will be very lucky to get a champions league place next season!!

They have played the same system the last 20 years or so all the way through the different teams.

That means that it is easier for them replacing a missing player with a youngster for example.

You can be sure that the youngster already know the system inside out even if he hasn't played a single game for the first team.

That is what we now also started to do.

The youngster may not shine or play excellent but he will make very few tactical mistakes.

Look at Flanagan for us last season. He had no problem stepping up because he already knew the defensive system inside out. He knew what he should do.

It is a key point to play the same system, from the youth team to the first team.

I think alot of it depends how their new keeper does. Van der Sar was a great player for them in recent years, hardly ever made mistakes and the defence knew what he would do. If De Gea doesn't come in at that level it could prove costly for them. The signings they have made so far IMO don't improve them that much, so I think they can be caught.

They have the money but it is Wenger deciding the rules. The problem is that if they offered one player like Nasri say £130k a week then they would have to scrap the wage rule they now have completely. Almost every player at the club would start to moan wanting more money.

They only accept it now, well most of the players do, because almost everyone else accepts it.

It would cost them big big money if they offered Nasri for example £130k a week. Say that wages would have to be increased by around 30%-40% for the whole squad.

Cesc is believed to be on a very high wage.

The players moan and leave and they fail to attract replacements due to wage structure.

Maybe they're feeling threatened by City or perhaps they're just trying to unsettle him. No doubt Fergiescum will have been on the phone by now.

Mancs are going to walk the league.

No they won't. The only reason they won it last season was the complete implosion at Chelsea. They were walking the league and then pretty much failed to win a game for a couple of months. I've never seen a team capitulate like that before, obviously something went very wrong.

Man City will be bringing in some top players this summer and Chelsea have a top young manager who might well freshen things up. Man Utd will still be there or there abouts but they won't walk it.
