When it is a World Cup then the best referees should be there. Shouldn't matter if it is 90% European referees or 90% South American ones. The best ones should be there.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postyup the ref's have been a bit dodgy to say the least!
Now because of some stupid idiotic FIFA rules you must have referees from all continents. That is why some referees that shouldn't be there is allowed to referee games in the World Cup.
I can understand that there isn't that many great female referees around because they don't have a chance to referee week in week out at a high level.
It is like moment 22. They need to referee games in the highest men's league but they are not good enough to do it but that is the only way they can get the experience they need.Stop the cyberhate

The USA game vs Brazil was the best match since Istanbul for me. **** ref, amazing goal to tie in extra time, penalty saves... what a game that was. Scoring on the last kick of extra time in World Cup Quarterfinal to save the day is "Suarez handball" quality good. Great match!"Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

Excellent match. The hilarious moment of the game was when Brazil missed their penalty and the US players celebrated big time and then realized that the ref had ordered it to be retakenOriginally posted by BrooklynRed View PostThe USA game vs Brazil was the best match since Istanbul for me. **** ref, amazing goal to tie in extra time, penalty saves... what a game that was. The penalty to make 1-1.
The faces of the US players sad it all

Just imagine that had happened in a Germany vs Brazil QF at the World Cup... you'd never hear the end of how outrageous it was. Reminded me of the goal the US Men had taken away against Slovenia in the last World Cup, which would have been the match winner but for the "phantom foul" in the box.Originally posted by Arn View PostExcellent match. USA always getting hosed! It's the World Cup FFS... you can't have the refs destroying the game like that. The red card that lead to penalty also... not sure it was a foul with both players going for the ball in the air... anyway, huge win but a great match and a just result.
How's this for the 122nd Minute down a man?

This happened earlier on in the tournament and was not called for handball, and play continued. Ref issued a public apology after the game..."These stories have as much relation to the truth as an egg to a chestnut." - Racing Santander President Francisco Pernia
