My Spurs colleague has long thought Walker overrated and that Trippier was the better choice. Both Clyde and Milner created more chances than Walker last year so I don't know what he actually brings to the team outside of running fast.

Was Walker not very injury prone before Ponch arrived? You'd think he'd be grateful that they managed his fitness so well.
Be funny to see him break down after a couple of months for City, especially if they are forced to play him more than planned because Alves ****ed them over.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It seems like a rare example of a PL club having done well in succession planning/squad depth. Think Walker will do well at City if they decide to use a conventional back four. That would obviously be a rethink from Pep but maybe he'll have different systems for different occasions (or alternate games to allow for Walker's fitness).
You'd think they would have more targets in mind than just Alves given the number of defensive players they released. Maybe Pep will convert another midfielder."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

he released all of their main full backs except Kolarov, not sure who else they have in their youth team to back those 2 up. Whilst they have some fantastic attacking talent, they do need a lot more strength in depth for the defence and centre of the park as I'm not convinced Kompany can stay fit for a whole season and the other defenders are just poor. Cant see Yaya being reliable for a whole season, especially at his age and his lack of motivation (unless theres money involved)Originally posted by dww View PostIt seems like a rare example of a PL club having done well in succession planning/squad depth. Walker is made of glass. Have they sold Zabaletta? Looks like Fernandinho will be playing there much more, which weakens their midfield considerably.
