Pretty much shat on all of Pellegrini's CV there has Martin Samuels.

Frightening that a large number of folk are going to read it and swallow it as gospel.

I think it's a bit harsh to sack Mancini though. Didn't Marwood go off solo and buy the likes of Rodwell etc when Mancini wanted Van Persie?

Yeah his man-management is not always the best and tactics a bit iffy at times, but I'd be hugely disappointed if we binned a manager who'd won us the league after so long, won an FA cup and finished 2nd. Bizarre

May have dodged a bullet not getting Tixi either. Those guys seem a bit crazy

If you have the chance to get in a top class manager then you simply must take that chance.

Mancini is a very good manager but not top class. Pellegrini is top class.

It's a cliche but he's lost the dressing room too. That much was clear from the Cup Final performance. I think he's garbage.

I don't think the reports of him going helped in that regard, will have made it harder for the players IMO.

It isn't easy to get the team playing like a team when you have big egos like Tevez and Nasri.

                  Nasri is simply poison.

He should walk the league with that squad, but he's handed it to United on a platter. Has to go IMO.

I think a lot comes down to who made the decisions in the summer. They were pretty poor and you could see from the tactical tinkering at the start of the season that some freshening up needed to happen and Mancini knew that. If he saw that problem and thought Rodwell and Sinclair in whilst losing Ballotelli was the answer then he is deservedly sacked.

He's done a better job than some are giving him credit for. However, I do think that others could do better.

Looking at how much he has used those players, I'd be surprised if they were the players he wanted.

I think Garcia was his player though as he might have name dropped him just before he signed. Certainly don't think Rodwell was. To be honest, I think RVP probably would have made a huge difference if he'd gone to City. Maybe swung the title in all honesty.

But Mancini has spent a lot. But it's easy just to rest on laurels when you win the title and not strengthen well. I think that's where they failed

Dzeko is clearly not a Mancini signing.

The board ****ed up the Van Persie signing big time.

Used to not rate him but, in time, I've actually come to appreciate the work he's done there. Having the players to win the league is one thing but actually managing them over the season to make them believe they can win the league and doing it is another. I think in that sense, he's been undervalued. Last seasons transfers were f'in awful though. What were they thinking with Rodwell, Sinclair and Garcia? Honestly, wtf??

I believe had they held on to Mancini and spent better this summer, they would win the Prem next season. He's a very likeable character and the quality of the squad can do the rest.

I think the decision is more about CL performances (where tactics and preparation are tested on another level) rather then Premiership performance.

                              I think it's a bit of a sad loss.

What happened on Saturday was irrelevant, he should have been sacked after their shocking displays in the CL. He was found out to be tactically naive and didn't have a decent plan B when it went wrong.
