They aren't resting they are all 'injured'Originally posted by RedReet View PostSo are City going to have any players playing this week or is their whole team resting for our game?
but no doubt they will get over their injuries this week and be fit to play against us
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't agree with this, if they are found guilty stripping them of titles alone does very little, their cheating allowed them to qualify for the champions league, and win trophies, buy players and pay big wages. While that money on the face of it is obtained legitimately, if found guilty they are saying that those titles and the prize money associated with them were obtained fraudulently. If there are no attempts to recover/takeaway that unfair advantage or any other forward facing punishments then they still have the squad and infrastructure that fraud has brought and you are legitimising them winning the PL next season or the season after, when none of it would be possible without doing what they did.Originally posted by Norbs View PostPL should strip them of all titles and nothing else. Can't see what grounds City would have to sue them if there's no impact on their finances
Stripping titles alone may make it easier for the PL to avoid any long and legal implication that City might try but it doesn't really solve the issue.Last edited by Exiled_red; 21-11-23, 11:34 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It is sports washing by a state that is guilty of many human rights abuses.Originally posted by Norbs View PostThe owners have hideous wealth, it the trophies that they wanted and needed to achieve
Strip them of their titles and kick them out of the league for cheating with a fix period of non-return. 5 or 10 years, so they can win the Championship at a canter but it doesn't get them back into the Prem.
The Etihad would be embarrassingly empty mid week against the likes of Portsmouth, the away fans out probably outnumber the home crowd. The glory hunters would disappear overnight and there is no way they'd be able to justify ludicrous state funded salaries or sponsorship deals in the Championship. We are here for a good time not a long time....

If that happened today though they could still win the PL this season, next season the year after and those would be valid, even if the past ones were removed, because they have the infrastructure obtained by their rule breaking.Originally posted by Norbs View PostThe owners have hideous wealth, it the trophies that they wanted and needed to achieve
Even if you strip them of the titles that does nothing to repair the damage they have done, I have said before even if they strip them if titles that damage can't be undone, they probably wouldn't award the stipped titles to anyone else and even if they did I doubt they would mean much to the fans or even the players given what they missed out on. I'm not saying they shouldn't be stripped of titles but there needs to be something that puts them back close to the situation they should have been and winning new titles is as difficult as it would have been if they hadn't cheated. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
