From the BBC gossip column (albeit the Mail)...imagine if they lowered their sights to this extent

Manchester City's interest has switched from signing Uruguay international Cavani to bringing in 29-year-old Brazil attacker Fred, who plays for Fluminense, and Benfica forward Oscar Cardozo, 30.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

For all their money, they really don't seem to be up to much! Lost without their scouts

They signed tripe last season and really have to up their game. Navas IMO is like Aaron Lennon, bundles of pace but predictable, end product is lacking and i can't see him adapting to the physicality of the league.

I'll wait until the end of the window to criticise their scouting, but at the moment they don't seem to be up to much.

At least Navas is something that they need, a player who will stay wide and can beat a man. Fernandinho costing £30m is just something I don't get, decent player but for £30m there are much better out there.

True enough he does gives them width, always goes on the outside much like Lennon. Curious to see how he'll get on but IMO he'll be a flop.

Fernandinho has looked ok when i've seen but the £30 million seems absolutely nuts.. at 28 too. Could be another javi garcia mistake.

They have too many mediocre players to win the title and I think they'll finished 3rd this year unless they step up their ideas, even with Pelegrini who is an upgrade on Mancini.

                Fred?

He's the worst forward to play for Brazil that I've ever seen.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I suppose he could be. I don't remember ever seeing him. Fred's name doesn't help him of course, although yeah, Jo's pretty bad as well.

And they've got Bernard in the squad too.
