Its interesting that France play Sakho ahead of Mangala though. He seems so highly rated, but cant get in any teams. First game for City yesterday.
    *Except Michael, who died.

Mangala looked very impressive on his debut. Him and Kompany could be a brilliant CB pairing - they have everything.

Man City: Supporters' club joins Financial Fair Play legal fight

An independent Manchester City fans' group has joined a legal action against Uefa's Financial Fair Play regulations.

MCFC Supporters' Club, which has 15,000 members, voted to back the move led by Jean-Louis Dupont, the lawyer who helped win the landmark Bosman Ruling.

Dupont claims Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches European competition law.
City were fined £49m and given restrictions on spending and squad size for breaking FFP rules last season.

"Far from implementing a true financial fair play, this rule is in fact a prohibition to invest that prevents ambitious owners to develop their clubs," said MCFC Supporters' Club in a statement.

"The Uefa rule may be bad news for MCFC supporters, but it is even worse news for supporters of all clubs that do not today belong to the established European elite."

A complaint was lodged with the European Commission about FFP by Dupont in May 2013 on behalf of players' agent Daniel Striani.

Dupont says the FFP ruling will restrict the incomes of both players and agents, reduce transfer activity and ensure that Europe's larger clubs remain dominant.

The Belgian lawyer claims that even if the ban on overspending were ruled legal, he would have further grounds to appeal because Uefa, football's European governing body, could achieve its aims by a less restrictive measure.

As well as City, Paris St-Germain and seven other European clubs were hit with a range of fines and sanctions in May for breaching FFP rules.

Uefa introduced FFP because it fears many clubs are risking their futures by spending beyond their means, while president Michel Platini also believes the big spending of some clubs is ruining the game.

In December 1995, Belgian midfielder Jean-Marc Bosman, 31, successfully challenged football's transfer rules at the European Court, on the basis of restraint of trade.

The Bosman ruling allowed players over 24 to move clubs without a transfer fee at the end of their contracts, and also ended national league limits on foreign players from other European Union countries.

The lawyer seems yo misunderstand his position. Only a judge may rule them a illegal. UEFA should have as much right to make a financial restriction for entry to their competitions as Blue Peter have to put an age restriction on their drawing competitions. It is not violating age equality laws nor is stoping a team entering if they have spent £1bn.

I'm sure another lawyer could argue clubs spending billions they have not generated is anti competitive or a dominant market position.

They should just bin it. It's a farce and is not being applied properly anyway.

Why rodo? The not filling the ground?

Its plainly obvious they won't have the fanbase of utd or us. They haven't had time to build a nationwide following yet. If you take away people from manchester , how often would utd fill old Trafford or maybe even the same for us? Its hard to judge as it won't or can't happen to test. Its not a pissing contest to see who's knob is bigger. I prefer City to Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs. Overall last season they just edged it. Gutted beyond belief though. This season is just so dull in comparison.

A few things mate obviously there is the money and last season and last season oh and last season but seriously surely they could fill a ground as I thought EVERYONE from Manchester was a city fan but its probably a myth along the lines of us and them from across the park and as for us filling Anfield with just a local fan base we probably would if the club didnt screw fans over on things like ticket prices and availability see the Madrid game for a prime example but 100 % agree about how dull this season is its a bit like when only fools and horses returned after they got rich

Yeah I understand the reasoning but I hate Chelsea for costing us last season. If it weren't for city, utd and Chelsea would have won more titles though. But long term they will be here to stay and I will naturally detest them over time, I'm just not there yet! Although they are mancs when all said and done.

I don't know what percentage of vermin that attend old Trafford are from outside Manchester or what percent of our fans on a regular match day come from elsewhere? I'm guessing its probably getting towards 50%? That is a guess and I could be miles off. But I think clubs would struggle to get full houses these days with so many games including Europe if they were soley relying on a local base which effectively city have. The cost of tickets is a con, so I'm personally not going to use people not affording to go as a stick to hit them with. Unless they just can't be arsed!

I get that mate it cos I find it a struggle to be honest in terms of what it cost`s and the added expense of the champions league is something I could of done without.
What I do think is that clubs could do more as the bubble will surely burst and most people have a limit I know I certainly do for example take the Champions League for example Ludogrets at home a lot of fans qualified so you would assume if you went to that you would be ok for a Madrid ticket but obviously that is a more attractive game so they miss out leaving them rightly pissed off
So what will happen if which is not out of the question Basle at home is a dead rubber the club want the same fans who got ****ed off for Madrid to come back and get ripped off for £58 for the pleasure
Gone off on a bit of a tangent there I know
