That's it for me too, when Man Utd were dominating the PL they were spending more than most clubs but that was at least income they have earned. I didn't like the fact they were winning everything but I didn't feel that they had bought their success like Chelsea did subsequently.

I think the reason for hating Chelsea more than Man City is due to Mourinho and the players they brought in. Mourinho brought in snidey, nasty, diving players who constantly moaned and complained, City haven't done that to the same extent, the managers they have had seem to have better approach to the game than Mourinho. There is a dodgy look to some of the City finance / sponsorship deals that I dislike, but they are a less dislikable football side than Chelsea. I guess I hate the Man City business model, but the Chelsea football side more at the moment, however the reports that Man City could spend another £100m this summer may change that

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Some people have more than others, this is life, welcome to life.
The fact that the league is more about who you can buy detracts from the excitement though. You're right that we're in the elite band but, out of that elite group, I think we're more in tune with the rest than the likes of City and Chelsea who are obscene in the manner with which they are conducting themselves. Teams like Palace are happy as they know they'll never win the league but are satisfied with playing at the top table. The old school big sides with huge support - Newcastle, Villa, Spurs, West Ham and ourselves have not a hope in hell competing. I don't think we have a god given right at all, but wouldn't mind being in a position to challenge in the future and I can't see it getting easier whilst the top 2 spend huge amounts more than everyone else

Lamport stopped being as snidey when he went to City. I think Chelsea mould their players in to the Chelsea way

It's not often I agree with you, but this is one of those times.
          Oh I don't know.

I think it's the fact City went two divisions down yet still retained a good crowd which makes.me not dislike them.

I agree with all of that. Its not great, but when you look at the season before last, I think a lot of neutrals found it very exciting when we were challenging for the top, simply because we're miles behind the likes of City and Chelsea. OK, it won't happen very often, but when it does you could add that it makes it an even more exciting spectacle.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Kristor Terreur - the man for Belgian football. @HLNinEngeland: The hijacking window: Bayern Munich have joined #mcfc in the race for Kevin De Bruyne. No decision taken yet, though.

Always thought Bayern would enter the race for KDB and hard to imagine him turning them down if they do come in for him.
