I did think about that after I post, particularly as he's quite similar to Origi. Still don't think we can rely on Sturridge, so I have discounted him, although I do still think we'll get in another decent striker so it would be the same situation for Iheanacho. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We do need one or our budding strikers to bud right through though. If Ings and Origi decide to play like they're not good enough after all then we're back to relying on Studge, i.e. we're fooked. I wouldn't mind Ikea Nachos to give us another hope of at least one striker hitting Vardy levels. One tit for another.

Pep Guardiola has been dealt a blow after leading transfer target Aymeric Laporte snubbed a move to Manchester City on Monday in order to commit his long-term future to Athletic Bilbao.
Laporte was one of Guardiola’s primary targets this summer but the France Under-21 centre-back has rejected the opportunity to join the club’s incoming head coach at the Etihad Stadium by signing a new four-year deal with the Basque side.
City were said on Monday night to be “relaxed” about Laporte’s decision to stay in Spain but the news is a disappointment and will place greater pressure on the club to win the race for one of their other defensive targets, John Stones, the £50 million rated Everton and England centre-half.
That rug really tied the room together.
