I think people are overly harsh on Sterling. He didn't have a stellar season at City but he also scored at a similar rate to what he had done with us. A lot of City players under performed last season. I think Guardiola will make him into an excellent player.

I think he needs a quality player around him. Not just good. But outstanding. Better than City have. He looked ordinary the season after Suarez left and he looked ordinary last year at City. I don't think he has it in him to turn a game on his own. Needs someone to bounce off.

I actually thought that at times in his last season for us he showed that he could grow to be a really excellent player independently of others. His work when played as the forward for example was really good. I think a lot of the perceived ups and downs in his form in that season were to do with his changing role/position and the inconsistent style of the team. At this stage he undoubtedly needs a structure around him to work at his highest level but I think that can be said of nearly all players and particularly of young ones.

I think some of his goals for us were handed to him on a plate by Suarez tbh, maybe my memory is tricking me but I seem to recall that being the case.

The money being spent by others, can we/FSG realistically compete with them....

                No.
                Are we winning?

It's all relative though. We've wasted plenty on players who haven't been right for the club.

Not in spending power, we have to compete in other ways.

Good to see them replace Robinho.

Gets to a point when keeping all these multi million signings happy will become a problem, which could affect morale. Have a look at their squad, not many of them signed to sit on the bench/in the stands.

It's not exactly genius football management he and Mourinho employ is it? Find mega wealthy club to employ you and spend loads on players commonly acknowledged to be the best.

I don't think he is going to go that way unfortunately, this guy looks to be a hell of a player already and is v highly rated in Brazil. Him, Sane, Gundogan & Nolito and are all good signings - Pep doing it the hard way again. Moreno is another huge prospect and they are loaning him for the year.

The firepower they have now with Pep's tactics make them a real force. So hard to call the league this year.

Not that impressed by their transfer business when you take in to account Gundogan will spend more time on the sideline than the pitch. Still look **** if Aguero goes down. But some time left to blow more millions.
