    2. City's players wages, Pep's wages, dodgy partnerships will be under more scrutiny than any other club. Thus City don't have carte blanche in the market.

    3. Uefa are mightily pissed at having their knickers pulled down (unlikely as they're very probably on City books but we can hope).

    4. Post-FSG / Klopp we will be THE massive team to buy for whatever cost. China will spend billions to further their global expansion drive, both in terms of buying us and then filling us with galacticos. FFP and Uefa be fecked.
You're not on Red Café or Father Ted. You can say **** here.

But to answer your question, there are no silver linings.
    Oh I don't know.

Not that I expect anything to come of it either, but I wonder how this effects the Premier League’s own investigation.

Does the 5 year time-bar apply here too, or can the PL (theoretically) go after the breaches that UEFA apparently couldn’t?

Reading between the lines I think it's a complete vindication for Manchester City.

They did get 'persecuted' by UEFA.

UEFA must have known about the time limit for charges in their own rules but found City guilty anyway.

I don't think this is a failure of FFP rules, I think it's a failure of UEFA. They are the ones that have brought the rules into disrepute by ignoring them and persecuting City because they had egg on their faces after the Bild leak.

What they should have done is be more vigalent moving forward and review whether the FFP rules needed to be changed.

Now they've undermined the whole process with their reckless actions.

It’s not a complete vindication for City at all.

They’ve been sanctioned and fined (again) but gotten off any meaningful punishment by some timeframe technicality.

UEFA massively botched it, I agree there.

            I can't say f.u.ck anymore.

And seriously, cheer up. What was going to be achieved if City were banned for two years anyway? We would still have Klopp. Pep will still feck (ok ****) off next season anyway. City won't be splashing out on 100m+ CBs this 'summer' because there aren't that many around and City need to keep their powder dry for a bit.
            One tit for another.

Well, the rules would have been upheld. The rules that everyone signed up for in order to participate.

And what is organised sport without a set of predetermined rules?

If City want to pick up the ball, invent rugby and do their own thing, why should the rest of us follow?
              Oh I don't know.

**** it... If the rules are not rules anymore, we should drop the collective tv contracts and go it alone.

To be fair, FFP has allowed our owners to turn is into the best run club in the world. I understand the arguement it protects the teams at the top, but we were not exactly anywhere near the top when it was introduced.

Id rather the rules were enforced and we kept FSG, than got sold off to China.

I guess the ball is in Uefas court. They need to turn this onto something positive or lose their credibility.

Not sure what "Reliant on City not winning it of course" means?

United are only going in CL if they finish top 4. Doesn't matter if City win it or not. The only way 5 teams from one association enter is if the CL winners don't finish top 4.

Europa winners go into Champions League.

If Wolves win Europa and Chelsea win Champions League and both finish outside the top 4 then 4th place will miss out because each Federation is allowed a maximum of 5 participants
