One of your gaelicers was supposed to come and play for my team this season but the ****house changed his mind after signing a contract.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostI like Aussie Rules, you bogan
Think it is a pretty cool sport to watch. It's similarities with Gaelic football made it easy to get into and of course a number of Irish lads play in the leagues over there.
I'm not flamin' Alf Stewart so no flamin' galah being used in general by me.

Yeah we chatted about Oisin Mullin last year. Cracking player and one that has the looks to be very marketable off of the pitch as well as the potential to be excellent in a pro game.
I reckon he may move to Oz at a later date as he is still only 21 or 22. I still stand by my thoughts on how he would do in Oz and think he would excel there as he is a wee bit stronger in build now than he was when we chatted about him and his reading of the game is second to none despite his young age. I also think that he may have had his head turned by another AFL team that is prepared to wait for him. Either that of the Gee part of your team is off putting to him as midland and west coast lads here would not take to being called a Gee head.
I think he is one of the best young footballers in the GAA and one of the few that I think would be good walk right into the Dub team where he not a Mayo man.
Fab playmaker from defence too.
To compare him to a football (soccer) player, he would have a touch of a Thiago to his play in that he is not the biggest lad on the pitch but can take knock and give them back, but seems to see a pass, by hand or foot, before other players and he has a lovely knack of being able to anticipate where an attacker is going to run and get in close enough to either nick the ball enroute to the attacker or to just jostle the attacker enough to cause the move to break down.
Would have enjoyed seeing him in the AFL once he has six months or so to adapt and bulk up a little as he has all the tools to be a bit special in Aussie rules.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

So weird that Madrid wouldn't get him now. Assume that Mbappe is going to happen, or waiting for Barcelona to sort out their finances. He'll only be 23 by then.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostGerman press reporting that he has a £150m release clause after 2 years.
He'll be off to Madrid at that point
What's the plan? Greater global exposure? Greater chance of CL success? The free hotel? The obscene, off the books bonus if he brings the CL? Then take himself off to a big club?

I know a few City fans through work and they hate how nobody cares if they win things. The common line from most is basically the "of course you did you spent billions" or "That's nice how many European Cups do you have?" They expect to be treated as if they have a history and have earned the right to be seen as the same as United or Liverpool. They havent they just spent a stupid amount of cash.Originally posted by fah-q View PostI’m sure the fans don’t care but it must eat away at the players and Pep that the whole football world doesn’t give a **** what they win. There’s a ton of ABLs that prefer City to win than us but even though don’t really give a **** about City and it’s more about us.
Every article about them has us in there somewhere and it must really piss them off

Think you could argue that they do have a history in the way any thing that is around a certain amount of the does, what they are lacking in is any real legacy.
Was reading the other day that they are now the fifth most successful club in England in terms of silverware if you include winning second division titles but of their 22 pieces of top level pieces of silverware, only 8 were won pre oil money.
So their history and legacy for the first 117 years as a club is 8 pieces of top flight silverware and 7 second division titles, everything else is from 2011 onwards.
All they are is a real world version of playing Fifa22 with the take over cash boost option set to the maximum and even in the game you can only financially dope your club once

I have never known a team that most proper football fans are so meh about. Characterless and a brief look at Bluemoon will show that like your workmates a fair few of their own fans have a chip on their shoulder about it.Originally posted by RedAndWhite View PostI know a few City fans through work and they hate how nobody cares if they win things. Of course he shouldn't. But it is already happening at that club for sure. No way they have such a low wage bill naturallyOriginally posted by ntto View Postthats the bit that needs investigating. If he's getting 300k from city then he shouldnt be receiving any other "wages" from other sources not accounted for within the clubs accounts.Football without Origi is nothing

I might have said it before but me and the wife have been together since 1996. When I met her 13 year old little brother I asked him who he supported. He said, "Brazil". Couldn't believe it, I mean, he's a kid but supporting a national team over an English side is ****ing weird. He went out the same day that England lost to Brazil in 2002, after the match finished, wearing his Brazil top. He was puzzled why he was getting funny looks.Originally posted by dizzycat View PostI have never known a team that most proper football fans are so meh about. He now supports Man City since they won their first title.
No joke. I don't speak to him about football. If I did that I may as well talk to the dog about her life as a social worker.
