That he’s not that good of a player & that WH was as good as it’d get for him?Originally posted by Patricks_Berger View PostThat’s mad that he’s got himself so tied down to West Ham as he comes into his peak years. What was agent thinking?Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

If the player or his agent thought that, then the over 200k a week offer that West Ham made to extend his contract would have been snapped up.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The owner of West Ham said he wants 100m for Rice.
Arsenal and City both bid 90m and had their bids rejected.
City are in no way forcing the price by bidding the same amount that Arsenal did. Only side forcing or trying to force up the price is West Ham.
As things stand the only way Rice moves is if one or both clubs meets what West Ham are asking for.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

What you want and what you get are often two different things, I thought the £100m was an opening gambit on West Ham's part, if they were only negotiating with one club they would probably have been looking at getting £85-90m, if a couple of clubs have offered £90m and seen it rejected it looks like they will get what they originally wantedThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Citeh were never interested in signing him.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostCity have apparently tapped out at £105m. So he’ll go to Arsenal.
£105m…!!!!
for a player whom I just saw referred to as this generations Gareth Barry
He wouldn't get a sniff in that team with Rodri still there

Because imo City have no interest in signing Rice. They don't need him as they have Rodri there who is a far superior player.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostHow so?

Hugely overpriced but he's very talented and grounded bloke. Certainly improved Arsenal, not so much City.
a fair summary. I do think he's talented but yeah massively over priced. City don't need to pay that much for him as they don't need him. Personally I'm not sure how much he improves Arsenal for that price tag but he does have ability. United apparently in for Caicedo now too, I think he ll end up at Chelsea but he is a player I would love us to be in for.
