Should've been told to shut up or forego their place in the tournament.Originally posted by red g View PostEtihad vs Emirates.
I can think of an immediate comparison - Us playing in the Barclays sponsored PL, apparently we vetoed the first PL sponsor though, Bass Brewery. It's not clear if it was because Carlsberg were out sponsor. Notts Forest vetoed it too (Labatts?) as did Arsenal.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I wonder if city players will have some sort of clause in their contracts to allow them to bail out should the club eventually get massive points deductions and dropped into the depths of the lower leagues.removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Do you mean in their official contracts or their 'under the table' contractsOriginally posted by baitman View PostI wonder if city players will have some sort of clause in their contracts to allow them to bail out should the club eventually get massive points deductions and dropped into the depths of the lower leagues.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

They won't though will they, they never stick together as there's lot of money to be lostOriginally posted by John Barnes View PostIf the PL don't punish City and Chelsea properly, then imo it's quite possible other clubs could strike and refuse to play games,

The guy who stands next to me at Anfield said to me ages ago, that he thinks all other clubs should just outright refuse to play City at all.Originally posted by John Barnes View PostIf the PL don't punish City and Chelsea properly, then imo it's quite possible other clubs could strike and refuse to play games,

If everyone does it, they may all get points deductions - but it’d even out because everybody would be doing it.
Essentially, City would win the league with a record of 38 wins out of 38. But nobody would ever play them or even acknowledge them. So in reality, 1st place would be meaningless and 2nd place would become the real champions.
It’d become a farce and the Premier League would have to act.
But ultimately, it’d send a fantastic message and it’d be hilarious to see everybody just ignoring and boycotting City.

Brilliant idea but would never happen. There are a lot of clubs that have nothing to play for..... The Palaces and Wolves who won't get relegated but would miss the couple of million in missed gate receipts v cityOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostThe guy who stands next to me at Anfield said to me ages ago, that he thinks all other clubs should just outright refuse to play City at all.

That is in effect vigilante justice - City haven't been found guilty of anything yet so it would be unfair to act as though they had.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThe guy who stands next to me at Anfield said to me ages ago, that he thinks all other clubs should just outright refuse to play City at all.

What should happen is clubs should collectively seek a timeline for when they'll reach a verdict or at least a conclusion to their investigation."We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies."
